SCRIPT WRITING OPPORTUNITIES Via ISA:
SEEKING EXPERIENCED WRITER FOR REWRITE OF TEEN ROMCOM
“My Friend Noah” is a romantic comedy written by Ryan MacKenzie about a guy who pretends to be gay to score the hottest girl in school. First act included at our website at http://www.MyFriendNoah.com. Plans are to produce the film in 2012. Financing is around the corner and coverage has been collected. Script is in good shape but needs a strong rewrite and collaborator to guarantee a sale when the film is completed. Looking for an experienced screenwriter who is passionate about Ultra- Low Budget independent films, years of commercial screenwriting experience, a strong handle on romantic teen comedies, and understands niche markets, film festivals, etc. Will consider union and non-union. Payment will be deferred — $5,000 (more for union). Upon commencement of principal photography. Please provide job resume, bio, writing samples, and references for us at myfriendnoah@gmail.com. References will be called.
SEEKING COWRITER TO DEVELOP 2 HOUR TELEPLAY SCRIPT
Seeking a cowriter to develop an outline/partial script into a teleplay for a 2-hour TV Pilot/feature film. Production team is professional and has some great credits under their belt already. The genre is psychological thriller (think of a little Twin Peaks, a little Alias, a little Millennium – very character driven with an ensemble cast.) Please understand the following: this may or may not be paid, so please DO NOT respond if you are only willing to do paid work. And it will be a collaborative effort with the series creator. Male or female, young or old, student or professional – all may apply. Also this will need to be done remotely. My production Company has produced two successful projects already: a very well received TV Pilot which won about 25 awards in 2010 from TV Festivals, and a short film, which received two nominations in 2011. Both were of high quality in every respect. So you won’t be getting into something that will turn out to look and sound of poor quality. Please email your resume, sample scene(s) or trailers/clips of your finished script work, imdb page (if you have one), photo (optional), and anything else you think might be helpful. Thank you.
YOUNG DIRECTOR SEEKING SCREENWRITER FOR JUNE 2012 PRODUCTION
My name is Isaiah Smith, and I’m 25 years of age. I work as an independent contractor shooting, directing, and editing. Editing is my passion; my goal is to be a feature film editor! I have a bachelor’s degree in film studies from the University of North Texas. I know that doesn’t mean much in a field driven by artistic skill and creativity, but I’m hoping to build more credibility by mentioning my degree. Anyhow, I’m reaching out to the writing community because screenwriting is not one of my strong points. I can shoot shots all day; I can edit all day, but developing a script is an entire beast in itself. That’s why there are professionals, like you all, who make careers of it. I have a small team that is helping develop the script for our short film, but we’re not script writers. I’m doing most of the writing, and it is very challenging. We have about 24-pages written at the moment, but it’s not very strong. I understand the amount of skill and talent it takes to develop a solid story. It’s not something I take lightly because without a good story there is nothing worth sharing. I’m looking for somebody who is passionate and gifted in writing. This person should be able to take an idea and run with it. Preferably, this person will have some experience in screenwriting, but it’s fine to apply with no experience. We all have to start somewhere. 🙂 Lastly, this film is planned to be shot in June 2012. As of right now, we have yet to obtain funding. However, we will be launching a two month campaign on Indie Go-Go in March. We’re believing that God will bless us with $20,000 to make this film a reality. The team is made up of young people who have come together to do a great thing in order to build momentum that will help propel us into our future endeavors. So, there is no money to pay whoever joins the team, sorry. Remember, God takes us through different seasons in our lives. Today, I’m developing a short film, believing for $20k because this is the season God has placed me in. However, in the future, I plan to develop feature films with budgets well in the millions of dollars. If I’m faithful with what I have been given then more will be given. In other words, please don’t let money be the reason you turn down the opportunity to collaborate with talented and creative people. Write to me at infor@saiahsmithfilms.com. For samples of my work check out IsaiahSmithFilms.com. Also, to find out more about the lead actor for this film check out Harmini.org.
SEEKING COMEDIC SCREENWRITER TO HELP WITH DIALOGUE
I need a comedic screen writer to help me get my story out of the outline stage into the actual first draft of the script. I have the exact story but the dialogue really screws me everytime. I’d love to sit down and discuss the story and see if you can helpe out. I’d love if you are seasoned at screen writing and more specifically at comedies. Pay will be small unless you would rather make a deal for when I either direct the film or sale it and we can work that out when it comes. You can text me at 972-533-5480 at anytime.
